My name is Alison
I am 20-something California Girl
After graduating High School in 2007, I set off on my own and moved down to San Diego from Northern California.
I graduated with my BA in Psychology in 2011 and my Masters of Social Work in 2013, both from San Diego State University
After graduation I got a job at a local non-profit as a Case Manager working with Domestic Violence victims.
I love my field and I am so happy I found a career that I am passionate about.

At the end of my freshman year of college I met a cute country boy at a bar and my life was changed forever.
I fell head-over-heels in love and 9 months later, just months after turning 20 years-old, I became his Mrs.

Being married to Jeremy also means being married to the military, because he is a U.S. Marine
We’ve been through two deployments together (Afghanistan and the 31st MEU), along with numerous trainings and schooling
We’ve been stationed at Camp Pendleton and MCAS Miramar, both located in Southern California
We are currently stationed at MCAS Miramar in San Diego and will be enjoying our remaining time in California before Jeremy gets out of the military in November 2015 (after serving 9-years). We plan to move to his hometown in Wisconsin to settle down and start our family!

I saw you had liked a post of mine, and I happened to glance at your blog to come to the realization that you’re part of a military family as well. This is all very new to me, but it has helped me very much just to see how happy you and your husband are no matter the difficult sacrifices. –You have inspired me this morning– thank you!
Thank you! I appreciate the comment. The military lifestyle may have it’s challenges, but when you’ve found the person you want to spend your life with its all becomes doable because they are worth it 🙂

Hello! I love your blog, and am enjoying following your posts in my WordPress Reader! I couldn’t find an email address for you on here so I hope you don’t mind me posting on your blog comments! I recently created a post about the FLOTMC Recommended Reading list, and wanted to reach out to other military spouses and see if they would be interested in a “reading challenge” so to speak. It isn’t really a challenge, but more of a chance to try and read these recommended books that would be helpful to all military spouses, regardless of branch. I think it would be a fun discussion and to get the word out to other military wives who need the encouragement and insight! Let me know what you think 🙂

I’ve actually read a few of the books already 🙂 And I just recently got to see Molly Gross at Camp Pendleton when she gave a “motivational” speech (she was hilarious!) What did you have in mind other than reading the books? Are you looking to have different spouses write up a critique/review of each of the books?

I absolutely love your blog!!! I was wondering if u do photography for homecomings? My original photographer double booked me with a wedding and cant make it to both obviously 😦 its not till mid mayish but just seeing if u maybe know anyone or could possibly do it 🙂
I do homecoming photography 🙂 However, I don’t normally book them because I work during the week and homecoming dates are always changing. I would hate for someone to book with me, and then the day before have the date change and me be unable to make it
I really only do them if it’s last minute…where I know it will be on a weekend. What base are you at? I can connect you to some other local photographers
